CC/USA's Unique Lease-Back Program

For several years now many west-coast-based catamaran owners have taken advantage of Cruising Cats USA's unique Lease-Back program. These owners have earned from many hundreds to thousands of dollars every month! And yet, totally unlike charter-boat owners, NO ONE else uses or charters their boat. AND you retain almost unlimited use of your boat.

Truly, this is like no other boating program available anywhere in the US. (And now it's available to our power-cat clients, too!) What is this Lease-Back program, and why is it worth your special consideration? First, CC/USA's Lease-Back program requires that you give up almost no personal access to your new cat. That's right - no strangers will ever use your catamaran! In fact, we guarantee (in writing) that you'll be able to personally use your new cat almost every day - each and every month Just look at the advantages you'll realize with our Lease-Back program:

  • Your cat isn't rented or chartered to .
  • Your cat is available for your private use every month.
  • Your cat is washed regularly, for free.
  • Your cat earns, on average, from about $800 to $4,000 every month. And you don't have to share ANY of that income with an agent or management company.
  • Your cat escapes ALL of the resale depreciation suffered by all charter-managed cats. (That’s a savings, on average, of nearly $20,000 … PER YEAR!! How so? The average Caribbean-based charter boat suffers an additional 7% to 8% resale depreciation EACH YEAR that it’s in charter. For a $250,000 boat that means $17,500 to $20,000 more depreciation each year than the same boat if it’s privately owned and NOT chartered. Our Lease-Back boats are only shown dockside for a few hours each month; that means NO additional resale depreciation.)

    • So what’s the purpose of the Lease-Back program? It allows Cruising Cats USA to present occasional dock-side viewings of your boat to other would-be buyers. Such showings typically take 30 to 45 minutes, always in the presence of a Cruising Cats USA rep. And, once or twice a year, your cat is exhibited at a local boat show. In short, it endures about 98% LESS wear-and-tear compared to if you put it into a charter-management program.

    Is There A "Catch"?

    Actually, there are three "catches." But before we examine them please note: this same Lease-Back program has become a highly popular feature among numerous catamaran owners at our San Francisco Bay, and Hawaiian, and Puget Sound offices. (And those participants are available for you to speak with to confirm that everything you're reading here is true. Ask us for details) Now, as to those 3 "catches."

    1. This special offer is available for only one model of each of the aforementioned brands. For example, if we already have a new Gemini 105 and a new Lagoon 380 at one of our locations, then until their contracts end we don’t have need for a second Gemini or L-380 at that location. (But you’d still have the option to place one of the two-dozen other cat models that CC/USA represents at that location … or to put a Gemini or L-380 at one of our other locations.)
    2. This "catch" is easy. The owner of any Lease-Back model agrees that when not using his cat, he'll keep it at the assigned CC/USA dock. (Dockage paid by the owner.)
    3. Each Lease-Back owner agrees to allow his boat to be viewed, in the presence of a CC/USA representative, a few days each month — and locally at one or two annual boat shows (typically for 5 to 7 days).

    Why Do We Offer This Great Deal?

    It's quite simple. Cruising cats, whether sail or power models, are a relatively new addition to the luxury-yacht world. A lot of potential buyers have never been aboard a big cat. So they're unlikely to purchase one until they've had a chance to board and inspect one. Thus, we're willing to give back much of our profit to the buyer of a particular cat model, in exchange for then being able to sell 3 or 4 additional versions of that model by showing that recently purchased model to other prospective buyers. Of course, we're not talking about "huge crowds," either. It's unlikely that our sales staff would show any one cat more than 4 or 5 times in a month; often just once or twice. And each of those "viewings" involves just 15 to 30 minutes. Meanwhile, a CC/USA sales-rep is always present during these dockside viewings.
